One thing that we have found in our years of using Pay Per Click Internet Advertising is that the worst thing you can do is fall in love with your product. If you are getting clicks on your ad but no sales, perhaps it is time to find other products in that Keyword market.

Let the market dictate what you promote instead of your own personal likes or dislikes. If they are not buying it, find what they will buy.

Also, you should always be very specific between your ads, keywords and products. When you have an ad for Purple Widgets from France selling for 27.75, then you better have that item for your product, too. This might sound like commons sense but sometimes we forget to be specific and that can cost us valuable sales.

Remember: Don’t try to trick your customer into looking at your page, it will cost you in the end.

While each tip is important you definitely want to know how to control losing money with advertising that does not have a good return on your investment (ROI). Here are some things that are necessary to minimize your risks. Start with a low budget, and do not get into a bidding war for clicks. Even on sites like Yahoo and Google, you want to stay within your budget.

Figure out how much money you are willing to spend per month, and then per day for your advertising. Keep records of how many clicks you are getting per day, and if those clicks are resulting in sales. How much are you spending for advertising and what is your profit?

Advertising is the highest expenditure for most businesses. For people just starting out it is something you have to do in order to be successful. Since your overhead is most likely not as high as having a storefront, you should still make plans to get traffic to your web site through advertising.

After you have set up your web site you want to use the keywords featured in the landing page that visitors are taken to after they click on your ad. The ad and the page should be highly relevant. This is going to keep your costs from “click and run” visitors lower. The ad should give the visitor a good idea of what they are going to see after they click.

Google rewards ads and pages that are relevant, and penalizes pages and ads that are not. It is very important to take the time to write ads that compliment the site. Can you use the same words in the ad and on the landing page? Absolutely!

In a little over a month there have been some major changes at Mastermind Pros.  There are new coaches and new classes being offered.  Frank Terranova, the CEO, is offering training for Google Cash Detective 5 days a week and twice a day for people who have purchased the program.  There is a loyal group attending the trainings, but you have to have purchased the program to have access.

There are several causes springing up this Mother’s Day.  We follow the Blogger’s Unite recommendations and this year there are people posting about having a group of women from around the world who meet and find the way for peace.  No mother should have to send their children off to die in a war.  That is something that none of us really want.

The lady who was credited for the birth of Mother’s Day was an activist for abolition of slavery and then after the US Civil War, she became and advocate for peace.  Several women are taking up the cause, and it is gaining some momenteum with the Bloggers Unite group. Read the rest of this entry »

I have spent most of the morning looking at blog tutorials and templates.  Although I do not feel that I am any further ahead in getting some updates to this blog, I still have learned a lot.

I have found out that my Camtasia program software key does not work with my new computer.  How does it know I switched computers?  That is just scary.  Well that lead to time spend looking for the key and finally a letter to support requesting help.  My Camtasia is 2 years old but I see no need to pay for an upgrade.

I did that so I could watch some tutorial videos that were made with Camtasia.  However then I thought I would just watch them with my browser, but for some reason firefox would not open them.  That lead to downloading up updated Firefox plugin for Adobe Flash, and then I had to uninstall my video links because they were not set up right, reinstall them, and finally watched some videos on changing blogging templates.

Well 4 hours later, I am ready to go get away from the computer for a while.

There is so much to learn about blogging once you decide you want to have one of the better blogs around and get lots of followers.  You have to start posting things that people will read and return to read.  How do you compete to get readers with all that there is out there?

I see people with thousands of followers.  That is my goal.  However at Mastemind Pros, we do not only want followers, but we want to give our followers some quality content.  Mastermind Pros is in the business of teaching success.

Well where am I with the blog and the blog update?  I read that simple changes are better than complete radical changes to start with.  However with so few readers maybe radical changes would not upset that many people.

The changes will most likely take place in June 2009. Or if not that will get changed.  Who knows what Word Press has in mind for blogging by then.

One thing definite is that things will be changing.  I look forward to the future.

Mastermind Pros is growing in leaps and bounds.  With all that we offer in state of the art coaching our members are finding that they can make money with the right tools.  This is fantastic for us, because more members means more joint ventures, and more joint ventures means more opportunity to learn from each other and a much shorter learning curve.

We are finding that many of our members who have never had any success with Search Engine Advertising, focusing mainly on Yahoo and Adsense, are having success in a short amount of time.  Whether it is in a joint venture project or on their own they are seeing success.

What does this have to do with the blog?  Well blogs are communication tools, and they are a place where members and guests can go for information.  Now that the member base is steadily increasing with MMP, it is time to have an even better blog with more up to date content, videos and perhaps even a pod cast or two or more.

Does that sound like something we need here?

The first step it finding an acceptable theme.  This is the hunt for a great theme.  I am drawn to  the theme Hybrid News, but so far it looks like it will take a while to get that theme working right with the current setup on this blog.  It might be more than a few days to get that working right.  However there is a good amount of support for it so stay tuned for that upgrade.  I am really looking forward to it.

Now I have something to do on summer break.

The big news today is about Twitter and the 17 year old kid who ruffled Twitter’s feathers.  Now he is having his 15 minutes of fame and who knows what else will follow with it.

There is nothing much to fear if you should come into contact with either of these worms according to posts on the techcrunch.com blog and on adjix.com.  However, like anything else, if you are not sure about an email do not open it.  I thought I had some difficult with the Mikeyy virus but did not get any emails from it.  My Twitter account seems to be doing fine, and the ones I have looked at today seem fine too.

Perhaps this is another reason why you should not just be adding anyone to your friend’s list, but be a bit more selective when choosing who to follow.

Worms are worms and hackors are good at what they do.  They know about coding.  I remember 9 years ago working with high school students in a computer class who were given their own room and basically left alone because they were more advanced in their computer coding knowledge than most of the teachers in the IT department at that time.

It is amazing what kids can do when they get bored and this is the same reason that the 17 year old gave for why he has Twitter all in a twizzy.

This is also why it is important to have people you can trust in your mastermind group when you are using he internet a lot.  I found out about the Twitter twouble from one of our Mastermind members, Dan S.  Thanks Dan!

I am going to quote and paste the text in here from Adjix.com about what to do if you are having trouble with anything that Mikeyy did to your Twitter account.

As Twitter said, and which Mooney confirmed, the worm is mostly harmless. No passwords or other sensitive information are stolen in the attack.

If you are infected, there is no cause for concern. Simply follow the 5 steps below to remove the worm from your account:

1. Go to www.twitter.com.
2. Log in to the infected account.
3. Go to “Settings” in the menu.
4. Under “Name”, remove the text in the field (which has been edited by the worm).
5. Remove the text under “More info URL”, which has also been edited by the worm.

When you completed those 5 steps, the worm is no longer active on your profile but you can get easily re-infected. For now, until the problem has been solved, BNO News recommends that you not visit any accusation  Twitter profiles.

Once again the worms were found not to grab anyone’s passwords.

If you get any notices on your Twitter about the virus do not go to the profile of the person who sent that notice.  That is supposed to be how it spreads.  At least that is what I have determined through what I have read so far.
